Canyon Lake

Two clear, beautiful rivers wind through town – The Comal and the Guadalupe – and Canyon Lake is just minutes away on 306. Slip into your bathing suit and go! Let's talk about Canyon Lake...

At the North Marina of Canyon Lake there are party barges for rent by the hour. We usually reserve one for the Fourth of July...
The lake water is super clear and the lake is large enough to enjoy for a day. Be sure and take your coolbox and folding chairs or blanket and enjoy a picnic!
There are also are great parks along the shore you can visit to fish and swim. Or you can take the hiking trail and explore some of the lakeshore. Take Canyon Park Road off of FM 306. The first park along Canyon Park Road is great for a swimming beach. The bottom is sanded and the swimming lane is roped off. It is shallow enough even for small kids by the shore. NOTE: There is not much shade available here, so take lots of sunscreen or an umbrella!
Check out the National Park Website for information about RVing or camping at the State Parks at Canyon Lake. Some parks have screened-in small shelters available with electricity included.
