Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort

Schlitterbahn New Braunfels is a family-owned, family-friendly park offering FREE parking, FREE tubes, and FREE lifejackets. Schlitterbahn also allows you to bring your own picnic (no glass or alcohol please) - and that makes Schlitterbahn one of the best family values around .This America's #1 rated best water park by the Travel Channel, features 65 acres of water slides, miles of tube chutes, uphill water coasters, a wave pool, endless lazy rivers, waves for surfing, splashing, relaxing, kid-friendly water playground, hot tubs, shady picnic grounds, and a short tubing excursion on the Comal River! WOW!

Located on the banks of the spring-fed Comal River in New Braunfels, Schlitterbahn offers more than 40 family attractions designed for kids of all ages. You can even stay IN the park at year-round resort rooms.

Schlitterbahn consists of 3 seperate parts:  Blastenhoff, Surfenburg, and Schlitterbahn West. Each has a slightly different atmosphere and feature different rides and attractions. You can choose which park to enter and stow your cooler, towels, and stuff. It has been my observation that the other guests are respectful of your personal property and location. Of course, don't leave your valuables, but your lunch will be there when you get back.

Take a free tram to visit all three sections of the waterpark. There are two sides to Schlitterbahn. Hop aboard one of the free, frequent trams that stop at the Castle, Wave Fest, Surfenburg and Blastenhoff entrances.

Double Loop Body Slides - Riders surge through twin body flumes that twist around the tree tops and wind up splashing into a pool beside the Comal River.

Tubing
Bahnzai Pipeline Tube Slides - It's a tube ride and thrill slide in one! Twin four-story-high tunnel slides you ride on an inner tube.

Hillside Tube Chute - This tube chute begins at the front of Schlitterbahn's Castle then zigzags through a series of switchback curves. Next comes a series of rapids and a final downhill plunge before riders end their adventure in the Lagoon Pool.
Raging River Tube Chute - The world's longest tube chute! A swirling 45-minute float from one end of the original section of the park to the other! Riders can float directly into the Congo River or the Tunnel Tube Chute.
River Tube Chute - A short, fast stretch of whitewater that is really an extension of the Comal River itself.
Tunnel Tube Chute - Float through dark caves and eerie caverns on your way to a splash ending in the Comal River.
Whitewater Tube Chute - This tube chute begins just behind the Castle Entrance building. After a short, peaceful float, tubers spiral down a series of short drops before taking a precipitous plunge down the side of a cliff. The Whitewater continues its splashy way by cascading through a beautiful natural course before ending next to the Comal River.

TIPS:
1. DO get there EARLY and CLAIM your shady spot to stow your stuff - cooler, extra towels, etc.
2. DO take lots of drinks. The drinks are expensive there, but you are allowed to take in your own.
3. DO take your eats - lunch plus lots of goodies. The food is expensive there, and EVERYONE will be hungry after all the fun!
4. DO get your ice from the kiosk at 823 Landa Street. (No, I don't own any part of it, I just know where the best value is.) And most of the time in the summer you are helped by a bikini-clad New Braunfels hottie.
5. DO take your water shoes when you go to the other parks. The trams let you out in the parking lot and the asphalt/concerte is HOT.
6. DO look for coupons. They are everywhere around down here. I'll put out an alert to you when I see them if you are on my email list.
7. DO your homework. Which park best suits your family? Which attractions will your family want to ride the most? That's where you want to have your "Home Base" for the day. I know the tram goes between the parks, but lines are long and the rides take time. You will have a better time if you match up your "Home" section with your family's wishes. For one, you will have a place to sit and keep your towel dry... all the tables and sitting areas will be taken by other families.
8. DO come on a weekday if you can. The weekends are CRAZY busy! The lines are long and that means lots of waiting and very little riding.
9. DO wear LOTS of sunscreen if you choose Schlitterbahn West as your "Home Base". There are not as many beautiful and shady trees there.
10. DO wear a hat and sunglasses. South Texas sun can be amazingly strong.
11. DO plan to come early and stay late. There is just SO MANY fun things to do!!
12. DO park at your home section. When you finally decide to give it up and go back to hotel, everyone is going to be beat. What a blessing a close parking spot can be!
13. DO drink lots of liquids. Even though you may be in the water most of the time, you do need to drink more liquids down here because of the heat and humidity.
14. DO plan what you are going to be doing the next day. There are so many fun things to do in New Braunfels, that you may have to schedule another "Staycation" here!
